Business developmentSalesProject management
Situation

A manufacturing company with a portfolio of its own products had long been developing sales on foreign markets. As order volumes grew, it became necessary to connect sales with project management of production and increase the efficiency of the whole process.

Risk

Order growth was not matched by process development. Lead times lengthened, costs and scrap rates rose, planned and actual margins diverged and inventories grew.

Our role

Interim Business Development & Sales Manager responsible for sales strategy, marketing, purchasing, logistics and project management of orders.

Measures
  • Project management of orders across their full life cycle
  • Linking sales with production planning and controlling
  • Strengthening marketing on foreign markets
  • Realistic deadline planning in commercial contracts
  • Managing contracting, invoicing and collections
  • Cooperation of sales, production, purchasing and logistics
Result
  • Best financial results in two consecutive periods
  • Order portfolio roughly four times production capacity
  • A stronger position on foreign markets
  • A wider partner network and conditions for further growth
